The Son Who Came Home

Luke 15:11–32 · 6 min read · Ages 6–10

A father had two sons. The younger one said, "Father, give me my share now." He packed his bag and went far, far away.

He spent every coin on parties and fine things. Then the money ran out. He ended up feeding pigs, very hungry and very lonely.

"I'll go home," he decided. "I'll ask for forgiveness." He walked the long road back, rehearsing his words.

But while he was still far away, his father saw him — and ran! He hugged his son tight before the first word of sorry was even spoken.

There was music, dancing, and the best meal in the house. "My son was lost," the father said, "and now he is found." That's what forgiveness looks like.

« Forgive one another, just as the Lord forgave you. »

Colossians 3:13
